Boutique with 800+ SKUs eliminates photo editing
A clothing boutique with over 800 active SKUs sells through their own Shopify store and two regional marketplaces. Before Centyr, every new product required manual photo editing: open Photoshop, remove background, apply white background, crop to Shopify dimensions, crop to marketplace square format, export, repeated for each image.
The process took one part-time employee 3–4 hours every Monday. The quality was inconsistent: different employees produced slightly different white tones, padding amounts, and centering. Customer service occasionally received complaints about images not matching the actual product.
The Centyr setup: The boutique created two presets, one for Shopify (1200×1600px, white #FFFFFF, 85% fill) and one for marketplace (1000×1000px, white, 80% fill). Photographers upload raw shots to a shared drive. On Monday, one upload to Centyr, two downloads.
Results (measured over 12 weeks):
• Monday editing time: 3.5h → 10 minutes (−95%)
• Background color consistency: 72% → 99%
• Time-to-publish new products: Wednesday → same day
• Staff reallocation: photo editor reassigned to customer support
The boutique now processes 40–60 new images per week. The preset system means any team member can run the workflow without design skills.
